The PDP class is an excellent opportunity for new League members, and newly elected and appointed Officers to learn or get refreshed about the procedures, policies and by-laws essential for the successful operation of your Detachment. The challenge to Department and Detachment leadership is to put our members first.

The goals of the Professional Development Program (PDP) are to:

  • Develop and deliver high quality training to enhance personal and Detachment efficiency

  • Provide expertise and assistance on the full range of Detachment Operations

  • Maintain the capability to provide mobile / onsite training for the Detachment or District

  • Maintain an online Knowledgebase of information (SOP’s / Procedures / references).

Training is delivered in five (5) sections with each section having a Facilitator accompanied by one or more Subject Matter Experts (SME’s).

SME’s provide guidance through each section and attendees can expect to cover many topics. The class also includes new topics like Roberts Rules of Order; Validating DD-214’s and Vetting Applicants for membership.

PDP training can add to the knowledge that you already have and give you the confidence to employ the best practices available to build and maintain a strong and viable detachment. PDP classes have been developed with a focus on League structure, operations and the acquisition of effective leadership skills for all attendees. Acquiring and employing these skills will lead to a stronger and more effective Detachments.
