"On Monday, October 13, 2025, Wolfson's Children's Hospital in Jacksonville, FL, received a generous donation of $12,000. This contribution was made possible through the combined efforts of Pound 263 and the fundraising initiative known as Culver's Share Nights. This year's donation builds upon the previous year's contribution of $8,000, resulting in a cumulative total of $20,000 donated to the hospital over the past two years."

Marine Jeffrey Kingdon of the MCL 1st Sgt. Burdett W. Loucks, Jr. Detachment 876 received the DAV Department of Florida Miles Draper Award for Outstanding Veteran at the August 12, 2025 meeting of the Disabled American Chapter 86. Jeff was recognized for recognizing veterans in Florida with his handmade wooden plaques. Presenting the plaque is Commander Bill May (left).

June 17th, 2025 the Tiger Mayberry Detachment #658 donated this Plaque to the new VA facility located in Daytona Beach.
The General Roy S. Geiger Detachment #1047 (aka "Grumpy's Grunts") meets every Monday morning for breakfast, Orange Park, Clay County, FL. Doors open at 0530, breakfast at 0700.

The Marine Corps Marathon is an annual marathon. Stephen Bolding, from the 1st Sgt. Burdette W. Loucks Jr. Marine Corps League Detachment 876 has run the marathon numerous times. The marathon had a “Wear Blue, run to remember” mile in it. That’s where they place a mile long group of pictures of Military Personnel that have given their lives for our country. Annually Stephen sets up his own “Wear Blue, run to remember” in his front yard. He recognizes 24 military personnel that have given their lives for our country for Memorial Day.
The 1st Sgt. Burdett W. Loucks, Jr. Detachment 876 Marine Corps League had their first Saturday of the month Marine Social at the Emory Bennett Veterans nursing Home in Daytona Beach on January 4. We served them home made deviled eggs and sugar free cookies, cheese and crackers, chicken nuggets donated by Wendy’s on Old slings Road and donated pizza from Stoner’s Pizza Joint, sugar free jello and cool Whip, diet soda and chips. We provide camaraderie to the men and women residents. We have been visiting them since they opened in 1993, thirty one years.
The 1st Sgt. Burdett W. Loucks, Jr. Detachment 876 in Flagler County installed their new Commandant Eddie Todd for the year 2025 on December 17, 2024. Past Commandant Frank “Paco” Arce is congratulating him and his wife Emily.

January 16, 2024 — The Flagler County Detachment # 876 Marine Corps League received its new Charter renaming the Detachment to 1st Sgt. Burdett W. Loucks, Jr. Detachment 876 Marine Corps League. Wally was a Silver Star Recipient from Vietnam. Presenting the Charter is MCL Department of Florida Commandant Mike Armstrong to Detachment Commandant Frank Arce. In the back is Department SVC John Gionet and in the foreground is Detachment SVC Garrett Decker. The Detachment will be celebrating its 30th anniversary on March 11, 2024. Commandant Frank Arce visited Guadalcanal veteran and Life Member Ray Rice to have him sign the new Charter for the 1st Sgt. Burdett W. Loucks, Jr. Detachment 876. The detachment was renamed in honor of Wally, who was a Silver Star recipient from Vietnam. Ray Rice, a long time member of our detachment will be turning 100 in May of this year.
June 14, 2023 — Marines of District 9, Department of Florida, attended the City of Cape Coral’s inaugural Flag Day Celebration. Ariel Montero (PFC Paul E Ison Detachment 60), PDD John Castle (District 9 Vice Commandant), DD Frank DeGaetano (ET Brisson Detachment 063), Chet Ograbisz and DD Wayne Bergeron (Charlotte County Detachment 756). Attending but not photographed was PDD Dick Scribner & Kandy Scribner (PFC Paul E Ison Detachment 60).
July 29, 2023 — Director of Professional Development Carlos Rivera (and a host of other Marines) conducted an on-the-road PDP session at St. Petersburg. By the numbers: 5 sessions, 16 attendees, 3 Detachments represented, and a 97% Outstanding rating. Semper Fi, Marines! Learn, Grow, THRIVE!

August 2023 — National Commandant Johnny Baker congratulating William Kropa member of Captain “Tiger” Mayberrry detachment #658 Daytona Beach, Sgt. G.B. Reasner Jr. Pound #124 Oviedo, on being awarded the BSA Silver Antelope award for outstanding service to scouting. William is also a scouting national committee member of the Marine Corps League.
September 27, 2023 — The General Roy S. Geiger Detachment #1047 participated in “Share Night” at Culver’s of Middleburg, raising funds, awareness, and having a grand & glorious time! The manager eventaully passed a compliment from a customer, fitting the description of a “grey-haired man with glasses.” We’re still trying to figure out whom she meant, as 99% of us fit that profile. :)
